Liens / UCC
Liens filed in the General Execution Dockets are claims placed against an individual to secure the payment of a debt or the satisfaction
of an obligation such as, Hospital Liens, Federal and State tax liens, Lis Pendens and Preliminary Notice of Lien Rights, and Materialman’s
Liens.
As of July 1, 2012, a bill was passed stipulating the format to be used when filing conveyances in Superior Court. Pursuant
to O.C.G.A. 15-6-61(a)(10), all liens or conveyances must have a 3” margin at the top of the first page to allow space for the Clerk’s
notation.
All liens filed in Camden County are available onsite in the public records vault. In addition, lien records
dating from 2002 forward are available at the Georgia Superior Court Clerk's Cooperative Authority website.
Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings are liens placed
on personal property used as collateral, such as boats, electronics, furniture, and inventory for a business.
The Georgia Superior
Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority has adopted revised UCC forms that became effective July 1, 2013. The new forms have a revision
date of on or after April 20, 2011. Beginning August 1, 2013, all other forms will be rejected. UCC forms, filing checklists, rules
and information can be found on the Clerk’s Authority’s website.
